  • sch's really getting very stressful. i have a long queue of tests lined up, stacks of notes and pages and pages to be read. but i really do not know where to start. i'm very intimidated at the rate my classmates are studying. anatomy is so irritating, biomechanics is just..well...not my cup of tea. who the hell cares abt acceleration, dynamics, gait, balance, stability, etc.

let me just regurgitate what i can remember from anatomy. it's a form of reision for me.

    deltoid
origin: lateral third of clvicle, acromion and spine of scapula
    insertion: deltoid tuberosity of humerus
    nerve supply: axillary nerve
actions: anterior part flexex and medially rotates arm, middle part abducts arm, posterior part extends and laterally rotates arm

    suprasinatus
    origin: subscapular fossa
insertion: superior facet on greater tubercle of humerus
    nerve supply: suprascapular nerve
action: initiates and assists deltoid in abduction of arm and acts with rotator cuff muscles

    infraspinatus
    origin: infraspinous fossa
insertion: middle facet on greater tubercle of humerus
    nerve: suprascapular nerve
action: Laterally rotates arm and helps to hold humeral head to glenoid cavity of scapula

    teres major
origin: dorsal surface of inferior angle of scapula
insertion: medial lip of intertubercular groove of humerus
    nerve supply: lower subscapular nerve
action: adducts and medially rotates arm

    teres minor
origin: superior part of lateral border of scapula
insertion: inferior facet on greater tubercle
    nerve supply: axillary nerve
action: Laterally rotates arm and helps to hold humeral head to glenoid cavit of humerus

    subscapularis
    origin: subscapular fossa
    insertion: lesser tubercle of humerus
nerve supply: lower and upper subscapular nerves
action: medially rotates arm and adducts it. helps to hold humeral head to glenoid cavity

    triceps brachii
origin: Long head: supraglenoid cavity of scapula lateral head: posterior surface of humerus posrerior to radial groove, medial head: posterior surface of humerus inferior to radial groove
insertion: posterior end of olecranon of ulna and fascia of forearm
    nerve supplyL radial nerve
action: extends forearm, long head stabilises head of adducted humerus

    anconeus
    origin: lateral epicondyle of humerus
insertion: lateral surface of olecranon and superior part of posterior surface of ulna
    nerve supply: radial nerve
action: assistes triceps in extending forearm, stabilises elbow joibt, adducts ulna during pronation

see the amt of things i have to memorise?

  • it has certainly been a long time. i guess the blog will be temporarily on a hiatus until i get and configure my laptop.

sch's really getting stressed now. what with anatomy, physiolgy and kinesiology. not to mention sociology. mind-boggling. all of them. add to that, my classmates are really really diligent pple, compared to the slacker me. so u can imagine the position i'm in. pressure cooker.

i'm basically wilting away, waiting for the SPA AGM at KK Hospital. and my family, cousins and aunts are busy eating at Restu Restaurant. so jealous. as u can see, it's really been such a long long time since my family ate at a restaurant together as one whole big family. what more with the tantalizing and ultimately yummy food that has been ordered. and to my darling nurul, dun forget to take lotsa pictures okay. they are a must, aren't they? so now can u see how jealous i am?

have i ever mentioned that i'm one blur queen and selenge bacin? gosh.

till then, i'll be back during my 2 weeks of break in abt 3 weeks' time. and yes, probably with a change of layout. time is a major problem for me.

oh have i said that i was a little bit disappointed that arsenal lost? i'm not an arsenal fan but they were so kesian, don't you think? being one man down for most of the ganme. that was wheni really wanted arsenal to win even though i rooted for barcelona in the beginning. traitor, huh?

  • 3 weeks into school, yet i haven't updated much. simply because i dun have much to update i guess. all i can say about school is that it is definitrly getting hectic and i'm really behind in EVERYTHING! and i really mean it. howells, with tuition everyday of the week, there's simply no energy left for me to catch up with my studies. weekends, you say? they are set aside so that i can catch up with my social life which is like so non-exixtent, i have to say.

whatever it is, the long weekend was spent going out. with cousins and friends. heh. as always. i tremendously enjoued myself during the AMazing Race organised by the Singapore Physiotherapy Association(SPA) and the sentosa rrip with my gemz where i learnt roller blading. heh.

okay gtg now....more updates when i have the time. lesson starting soon.
